Students with Disabilities
Vocational Rehabilitation Services can prepare students with disabilities for post-secondary education and employment opportunities.
Pre-Employment Transition Services and Transition Services
Receive core services, as needed, to help prepare for post-secondary education and employment opportunities:
- Career Exploration
- Workplace Readiness Training
- Work-Based Learning
- Counseling on Post-secondary Enrollment
- Self-Advocacy Other Services
Eligibility is based according to the following criteria:
- Students who are 14-22 years old as of September 1st of the previous year
- Students who are receiving special education services or who have eligibility through Section 504 of the Rehabilitation act
- Students who are enrolled in an approved educational program
Transition Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors are assigned to the high schools in the workforce development area to assist students. Additional services may be provided to help you achieve your education, training or employment goals.
The Student HireAbility Navigator focuses exclusively on services for students with disabilities who are in the early phases of preparing for transition to post-secondary education and employment. The Student HireAbility Navigator serves as a resource in the workforce development area to support, expand, and enhance the pre-employment transition services that are provided by Vocational Rehabilitation.
