Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) is a technical college in Beaumont, Texas that specializes in two-year degrees and certifications. The college offers over 75 awards in leading programs that provide world-class education and hands-on training to prepare students of all backgrounds for careers in high-demand, high-growth fields that support the workforce needs of the region.

Students
LIT prides itself in providing students with a worthwhile education, delivered by knowledgeable instructors, that will subsequently open doors to quality career opportunities. Programs are available in high demand fields including allied health, business, general education, public service and safety, and technology. The Workforce and Continuing Education department offers non-credit courses between one day and six months in length to facilitate continuing education and upskilling. The department encompasses the LIT Truck Driving Academy, which offers Class “A” and Class “B” Commercial Driver License Training, Bus Driving, and refresher courses.
Courses
LIT offers course flexibility with day, evening and weekend classes, along with various semester term lengths to accelerate degree completion.
In addition to traditional learners, the college works to increase post-secondary attainment and exposure through a dual-credit partnership with over 30 school districts. This program provides opportunities for students to graduate with not only their high school diploma, but an associate degree, certificate or transferable credits, to put them ahead and ready to enter the workforce by the time they complete high school.
